In Basel, the occurrence of an induced seismic event was felt during the shut-in of a post-hydraulic stimulation operation done in a 5 km geothermal well drilled in a granite. A magnitude higher than 3.4 was then felt in 2006 causing the full stop of the Basel geothermal project (Häring et al., 2008).
