This chapter illustrates the diversity and complementarity of the passive seismic methods which provide many means of obtaining subsurface information while all relying on the recording of the same input data that is the ambient seismic signal. It is the view of the authors that geothermal exploration and surveillance – as many other geoscience fields – can, and will benefit from full passive seismic implementation, where the multi-purposing of passive seismic networks to integrate multiple approaches is key to a complete seismic assessment of geothermal assets.
