Yven “Cigéo” is the French Geological Repository Project dedicated to the disposal of high-level (HL) and intermediate-level long-lived (IL-LL) radioactive waste in a Callovo-Oxfordian argillaceous formation. The area is located in the eastern part of the Paris Basin and has been extensively studied by the French national radioactive waste management agency (Andra) for the past 25 years (Andra, 2005; Andra, 2009; Andra 2016). In 2010, a zone of interest for a detailed survey, located a few kilometres from the Bure Underground Research Laboratory, was defined.
